listening to some Grateful Dead and cranking through some work. Those who know me would be astonished I am listening to them, but fuck it. Good stuff. Once or twice a year I have to give into my guilty pleasures. There will be no Dead-Lopnik going on today though

There are only a couple of Dead songs I go for, and they don't really have that much in common. Touch of Grey, St. Stephen, Uncle John's Band, and maybe one or two others. A deadhead I am not, but there are musical touches that I like.

I'm not a fan of The Dead but I recognized a song that the Meat Puppets covered as being a Dead song. I'm not entirely sure how I did that.

Ha! I do this sometimes. My parents were both deadheads (my mom especially. still is) so I grew up around a lot of Grateful Dead, Neil Young, etc.. Somehow I got really into hip-hop and indie rock, but sometimes I just have to go back to the great music my parents listened to. I've gotten a couple of funny comments when something like The Grateful Dead shows up on my Spotify feed for an entire day.
